George Crofts LLB (Hons) Solicitor and Director

Originally from the Isle of Wight, George Crofts read law at Kingston University London. Having spent some time in Leeds studying for his professional exams, George settled in Dorset in 2015 undertaking his solicitors training contract at a well-established local firm. Coming from a background of sales, property management and litigation, George qualified as a Landlord & Tenant and Commercial Property Solicitor in 2017 and since then has worked locally building clients, connections and renown in the technical field of Landlord and Tenant Law.

Regularly headhunted, and having practiced for 5 years, George realised a life long dream to run his own law firm.

During his career, George has always focused on the broad area of Land Law. His practice areas and experience range from general commercial conveyancing to property disputes and associated litigation. In particular Landlord & Tenant matters, leasehold reform (enfranchisement and lease extensions), right to manage, restrictive covenant and right of way issues, boundary disputes, adverse possession and professional negligence. An adept advocate, George has appeared for Claimants and Defendants in cases before the Civil Courts and the First Tier Tribunal Property Chamber (formerly the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal).

George is regularly called upon by local managing agents to advise upon block management issues, lease extension and variation matters, and service charge queries. He also acts for some of the larger local management companies and freeholders/land owners. With a keen focus on commercial awareness, George helps developers and investors grow their portfolios and maximise return on investment.

Away from the office, George’s interest lay in the great outdoors. He enjoys walking and hiking both locally and further afield. George has completed the National Three Peaks, Yorkshire Three Peaks and for his next adventure has set his mind on conquering the Welsh 3000s.

Christopher Crofts BA (Hons) Consultant Solicitor and Director

Chris grew up in West London and was articled to the Borough Solicitor at the London Borough of Ealing. He was admitted to the Roll on the 1st March 1980 and still proudly displays his admittance certificate signed by the then Master of the Rolls, Lord Denning.

Chris set up his first firm in 1984. One of the early adopters of technology, Chris recalls being one of the only local firms to use computers. Capitalising on the growing efficiencies that technology could bring, Chris revolutionised domestic conveyancing and was one of the first firms to advertise and offer a fixed fee, high volume, domestic conveyancing service.

Upon becoming a father in 1987, Chris sold his practise and swapped the high pace of London life for a more relaxed pace afforded by the Isle of Wight where he raised 4 sons and built a substantial property portfolio. Always keeping his fingers to the pulse of legal issues, Chris has been involved in a number of high profile cases over the years some of which have resulted in wide sweeping changes in law and practice; “Ask me about that bakery” Chris jokes referencing his part in the creation and passage through parliament of the Landlord and Tenant (Covenants) Act 1995.

Chris acts for himself and a select number of high net worth clients on all areas of acquisitions and developments focusing on complex commercial and residential property work for commercial landlords on residential and commercial developments.
